25 Days of Christmas: Day 1

Going to try to post some fun videos each of the days before Christmas, my version of an Advent calendar. I had never seen this clip. I was a big Carson fan and had the pleasure of seeing a live show a year or so before he retired. This is adorable from start to finish. And NOT a setup (I’ll post David’s remarks in the comments)

Stay tuned for tomorrow…

Wildcard Weekends: Making Soup

White ducks in the pool while it snows

Nick and Nora, enjoying the snowfall. They like the falling stuff, not so much trudging through the drifts. Luckily, this was gone the next morning.

My version of the instant pot came with a steamer. And that has been a great feature. I use it for steaming potatoes (best way to make mashed potatoes) and chicken breasts, among other things. But the best use I’ve ever found is making chicken or turkey broth.

Late Fall Light

I’m not a big fan of winter, but I am a fan of seasons, so I always look for the beauty to get me through those shorter, colder days. There is a peacefulness to the end of fall – start of winter.

The work is done, the gardens are put to bed, the yard is winterized and it leaves time to sit on the patio and just breathe.

One of the perks of winter is with all the foilage gone, my mountain view returns with spectacular mountain sunsets.

Now is a good time to move indoors and focus on indoor tasks, like painting and deep cleaning…oh, you thought I meant writing. Yeah, that, too.
