Furry Friday: Look at Reggie Go

I have been promising folks for awhile that I would put together a video of Reggie hopping. I finally had time to do it this week.

Reggie has Manx Syndrome, which means his spine has not fully developed. There are some serious consequences depending on the severity of the issue, but for Reggie, it means he hops like a bunny. His back legs do not work independently*…well, at least we thought they wouldn’t, but as you can see in the last minute of the video, he is surprising all of us. He’ll always hop like a bunny, but he is getting stronger in those legs. And nothing stops him, regardless.

*If you watch when he is playing with Jasper’s tail, you can see how his legs mimic each other when he scratches his ear.

We are sure lucky he came into our lives, no matter how unexpectedly.
