Furry Friday: Shedding Into The New Year

I did a deep clean for the Christmas party, and boy, howdy, why do I have so many animals? The fur! It is everywhere.

Two Great Danes and their house panther on the couch

This picture makes me smile. When Sully, my house panther, came to live with us, he had never been around other animals. He was a four-year-old, owner surrender. Not sure why, he has NO bad habits. I didn’t know much, except he’d been an only child and was afraid of loud noises (that’s a story for another day, LOL).

After few weeks here, he acclimated to Scout (the only Dane I had at the time) and the other cats. He’s still suspicious of the ducks, but will go out on the patio and ignore them while giving himself a dirt bath. Trixie came along a few months later and despite some trepidation around a clumsy Dane puppy, he made her his own.

I hadn’t really noticed the change, things are busy here and as long as he gets his morning cuddle time, he’s pretty easy going. But I was looking at this photo, I realized that he is now a Dane cat. He sleeps with them a lot, many times squeezing into a small spot between at least two of them. Never afraid of being smooshed.

You can’t see me!

Tuxedo kitten in a box with wrapping paper

Christmas was a laid-back affair this year because this one was into everything. No tree, no knickknacks for him to destroy. But he did enjoy the gifts that arrived.

Tuxedo coming out of a cardboard box looking disappointed

He is clearly disappointed this box did not contain any gifts for him.
