Work Wednesday: Mysteries Abound

Girl sitting on top of a dragon, painting with watercolors along with a stack of book

It has been a ridiculous few weeks. Busy with all sorts of things, both fun and work related. I’ve been steady in the progress on the final rewrites of Full Sail. With that wrapping up, the Duxbridge Mysteries gets notes and plot scribbles when I need a break.

This fun fact came up in the town I’ve used as my model for Duxbridge:

Work Wednesday: Rounding the Corner

white rubber duck lying prone on a brown table, legs outstretched wondering where life went wrong

A gift from a friend who knows me well

Rewrites are progressing. Got past the awful chapter, it will have to be reviewed and tweaked a few more times, I’m sure. I am determined to power through the few remaining chapters in the next week.

Work Wednesday: First Snow

I do love the first snow of the season. Then, I’m kinda over it. But did enjoy the pre-dawn backyard. Even the shoveling.

Because of the pups, I have to shovel the patio before they can go out and make it an ice rink.

Okay, back to work for me…

Work Wednesday: Inspiration

They whispered to her you cannot withstand the storm I am the storm she whispered back

I was working out before bed the other night and my mind, as has been its way lately, wandered off. When it returned, I had the opening scene to the next Duxbridge novel..

Exhausted, I thought, I’ll write it all down tomorrow. If you know anything about inspiration, that is almost always a mistake. But somewhere between morning chores and the first cup of coffee I remembered that I had an idea.

Work Wednesday: Exhaustion

Fog over a grassy meadow

A foggy morning on the plains

I’ve been traveling, working, and not even sure what day it is. Lots has gotten done, and yet I feel like nothing is getting done.

Planning on a quiet Thanksgiving week, filled with writing if I can.
