Work Wednesday: Regrouping

Impressionistic painting of a rowboat on the water

Despite my best efforts and the discipline of sitting at the keyboard and attempting to write, it was a slog this week. I had a lot on my mind, and I couldn’t turn it off long enough to write something decent. When that happens, I have some choices.

One, I can walk away and do something – anything – else. But that didn’t seem satisfying or productive. Instead, I chose door number two and edited the first two-thirds of the book. Just enough to correct the grammar and typos, and fix awkward passages. The real editing will have to wait until the end.

Then, it will be edited and re-edited. And maybe re-edited again.

How is your week progressing?
