This week, nothing has gone as planned. My dad is in the hospital, soon to move to rehab for a few weeks. Nick left us unexpectedly. My recovery has been longer than I would like, mostly with lots of sleeping.

As summer is in full swing and my garden struggles along, I realized I had quite a few crushed tomatoes leftover from last year. Time to use a few up, and what better way than a nice spaghetti dinner.
And while my zucchini plants have yet to emerge, there are very nice, small, and flavorful ones at my local grocers.
We are in monsoon season here. It’s not unusual for a quick storm to come through, and it will be completely sunny in one direction while it pours. But yesterday was a bit more unusual.
